• Artwork setup: Cover artwork should be supplied as a print-ready PDF using the correct diary cover template. The current year diary pages come as standard with a year-view, a month-view including national holidays / important dates, week-view running 1st January to 4th January the following year, pages for contacts / addresses and lined pages for notes featuring a selection of bank holidays, festivals and national days.

What is a personalised diary?
A personalised diary is a printed planner with your own custom cover design. The inside pages are already set up for diary use, helping users plan appointments, tasks, goals and important dates.

What size are the diaries?
These diaries are A5 size, which is 148mm x 210mm. A5 is a popular size because it is large enough to write in comfortably while still being easy to carry.

How many pages are included?
Each diary or journal includes 192 pages, which is 96 leaves.

What paper is used inside?
The inner pages are printed on 100gsm uncoated paper. This gives a natural writing surface suitable for pens, notes and everyday planning.

Can I customise the inner pages?
This standard product is designed around set inner page options. If you need fully custom inner pages, please contact SM1 before ordering so we can advise on the best print option.

Can I personalise the cover?
Yes. The cover can be printed with your own artwork, branding, message, pattern, illustration or photographic design.

What cover finish is available?
The cover is finished with matt lamination as standard, giving a smooth, professional finish and added protection from regular handling.

Can I add foil or Spot UV to the cover?
Yes. Gold foil, silver foil and Spot UV can be added to selected areas of the cover. These finishes work best on simple details such as logos, titles, initials, lines, icons or patterns.

What is Spot UV?
Spot UV is a clear gloss finish applied to specific parts of the design. It adds contrast and highlights selected areas against the matt laminated cover.

What are gold and silver foil finishes?
Foil adds a metallic finish to selected parts of your design. It is often used for logos, names, dates, titles or premium details.

Do the diaries include a ribbon marker?
Yes. Each diary includes a black ribbon page marker, making it easier to keep track of the current page.

Who are personalised diaries suitable for?
They are ideal for staff gifts, customer incentives, event merchandise, branded stationery, retail products, client gifts, schools, clubs and personal stationery.

Can I order multiple cover versions?
Yes, multiple artwork versions may be possible depending on the order setup. This is useful for departments, teams, personalised names, campaign designs or branded gift sets.

What file format should I supply?
Please supply a print-ready PDF using the correct cover template. Fonts should be embedded or converted to outlines.

Do I need bleed and crop marks?
Yes. Please include bleed and crop marks on your cover artwork. Any background colours, images or design elements that run to the edge should extend into the bleed area.

What resolution should my images be?
Images should ideally be 300dpi at the final printed size. Low-resolution images may appear soft, blurry or pixelated when printed.

Can I design the cover in Canva?
Yes. Export your finished artwork as a PDF Print file with crop marks and bleed selected. Canva artwork is usually RGB, so colours may shift slightly when converted for print.

Will colours print exactly as they appear on screen?
Not always. Screens use RGB colour, while print uses CMYK. Some colour variation is normal, especially with bright colours, Pantones, spot colours or RGB artwork.

Can SM1 check my artwork before print?
Yes. We can check supplied artwork and flag obvious print issues. If your file needs correction, design work or print-ready setup, we can quote for artwork support.
