What is supplied with a vehicle gate order? A vehicle gate order includes two printed banners: one for the left gate and one for the right. Each graphic includes a reinforced opening positioned to provide access to the locking-bolt mechanism.

What is supplied with a pedestrian gate order? One printed banner is supplied for a standard 1m pedestrian gate. You must select whether the locking-bolt aperture is required on the left or right-hand side.

Which vehicle gate size do I need? Measure the complete width of the closed gate before ordering. The 4.2m option uses two 2,050mm-wide graphics, while the 7m option uses two 3,375mm-wide graphics. Do not select the size from the panel appearance alone.

How do I choose the correct aperture position for a pedestrian gate? Stand facing the printed side of the closed gate and check whether the locking bolt is on the left or right. Select the corresponding template and product option. If you are unsure, send SM1 a clear photograph before ordering.

Which material should I choose? AirMesh Polyester is lighter and has a more open weave, allowing more air to pass through it. Fabric Mesh Premium is heavier and stronger, with a denser printed appearance. Both are intended for outdoor mesh-banner applications.

Should I choose angled or square top corners? Angled corners have a 130mm cut at the top and generally suit round-top gates. Square corners are intended for gates with square upper corners. Check the physical gate before choosing, as the finished shape and artwork template must match.

Will the banner prevent the gate from opening? The graphics include reinforced apertures for the locking bolts, but they must be installed in the correct positions. Fit each banner carefully and check that the gate, hinges, locks and access points operate freely before use.

Are the gate and fixings included? No. The order includes the printed banner or banner pair only. Gates, feet, clips, bungee ties and other installation hardware are not included.

How should the banners be fitted? Attach them through the perimeter eyelets using suitable bungee ball ties. Apply the fixings evenly so tension is distributed around the banner, and make sure the locking-bolt apertures remain correctly aligned.

Can cable ties be used? Yes, but bungee ball ties are recommended because they provide some flexibility and reduce sudden strain on the eyelets and fabric. Whichever fixing method is used, do not pull the banner excessively tight.

Can the gates still be used regularly after fitting the banners? Yes, provided the correct banners are installed and the locking apertures are aligned. Inspect the graphics and fixings regularly, particularly on frequently used site entrances.

Are the banners suitable for permanent outdoor use? They are produced for outdoor display, but their lifespan depends on installation, exposure and maintenance. Inspect the gates, banners and fixings regularly, and remove the graphics if weather conditions could make the installation unsafe.

Can I order only one half of a vehicle gate banner? Vehicle gate options are normally supplied as a matching pair. Contact SM1 if you need a replacement left or right graphic so the size, corner shape, material and aperture position can be confirmed.

Can I use artwork created for a standard Heras fence banner? No. Gate banners use different sizes and include reinforced locking-bolt apertures. Artwork must be prepared using the template for the exact gate type and corner shape selected.

Can I create the artwork in Canva? Canva may not be suitable for these large, shaped graphics because the artwork must follow a specialist template and is prepared at a reduced scale. If you plan to use Canva, contact SM1 before starting. We can advise whether it is suitable or help prepare the final print-ready artwork.

Can SM1 check or design my artwork? Yes. SM1 can check supplied files and advise if corrections are needed. We can also create a complete Heras Gate Banner design using your branding, logos, safety information and site details. Artwork corrections and design work may be chargeable.
