Please Note: Life expectancy depends entirely on climatic conditions and length of active use. Realistic maximum lifespan of a regularly used Café Barrier graphic is one year.

What is the difference between a full kit and an extension kit?
A full kit includes two posts, two bases, one horizontal bar, two spring clips and one printed graphic. It can stand independently. An extension kit includes one post, one base, one horizontal bar, two spring clips and one graphic. It must connect to a full kit or another post.

Which size should I choose?
The 1,000mm barrier suits compact areas. The 1,500mm size works well for most hospitality layouts, while the 2,000mm option covers a wider space with fewer units. Different widths can be combined.

What is the actual width of the printed graphic?
The 1,000mm system has an approximately 850mm-wide graphic, the 1,500mm system has a 1,350mm graphic and the 2,000mm system has a 1,850mm graphic.

Which material should I choose?
Display/Stretch Polyester provides a smooth fabric finish for general indoor and outdoor display. Fabric Mesh Premium has an open structure that allows more air to pass through, making it useful for more exposed outdoor locations.

Can both materials be printed double-sided?
Yes. Both Display/Stretch Polyester and Fabric Mesh Premium are available as single or double-sided graphics.

What is the difference between single and double-sided graphics?
Single-sided graphics display the design on one face. Double-sided graphics have two printed faces, allowing the artwork to be viewed correctly from both directions.

Can each side have a different design?
Yes. Different artwork can be supplied for the front and back of a double-sided graphic. Both pages must be included, even when the same design is required on each side.

Can I use several different designs within one order?
Yes. Clearly label each artwork file with its size, material, printed sides and intended position within the layout.

How many kits do I need?
Start with at least one full kit, then add extension kits for each additional section. Separate or divided layouts may require more than one full kit.

Can the barriers form corners?
Yes. Each post collar can connect up to four horizontal bars, allowing straight runs, corners and enclosed arrangements.

Can Economy Café Barriers be used outdoors?
Yes, for temporary outdoor display. Position the bases on stable, level ground and take the barriers down during adverse weather or winds above Beaufort Scale 4, approximately 13–18mph.

How should I move the barriers?
Disconnect the horizontal bars from the posts before moving the hardware. Do not lift or carry an assembled barrier by its bar, as this may weaken or damage the connecting latches.

How should I clean and store the graphics?
Machine wash the graphics at 30°C without detergent. Allow them to dry completely before refitting or storing them in a clean, dry place.

How long will the graphics last outdoors?
Their lifespan depends on the material, location, weather and frequency of use. A regularly used outdoor graphic has a realistic maximum lifespan of approximately one year. UV exposure and air pollution may cause fading or discolouration over time.

Can I order replacement graphics without new hardware?
Yes. Replacement graphics are available for compatible Economy Café Barrier hardware. Select the correct width, material and number of printed sides.

What is the difference between Economy and Deluxe Café Barriers?
Economy Café Barriers have black powder-coated steel hardware and use spring clips to secure the lower corners of the graphic. Deluxe Café Barriers have chrome-finished stainless steel hardware and horizontal bars along both the top and bottom.

Can I create the artwork in Canva?
Canva may not be suitable because the artwork must follow a specialist template prepared at a reduced scale. If you plan to use Canva, contact SM1 before starting. We can advise whether it is suitable or help prepare the final print-ready artwork.

Can SM1 check or design my artwork?
Yes. SM1 can check supplied files and advise if corrections are needed. We can also create a complete Economy Café Barrier design using your branding, logos and messaging. Artwork adjustments and design services may be chargeable, with any costs confirmed before work begins.
