Outdoor A-Boards are lightweight, portable signs for events, entrances, promotions and temporary outdoor displays. Each board has two printed faces connected by a folding base and uses an interlocking design for straightforward assembly.

Choose from six size and pack combinations, with the same design or a mixture of designs within each pack.

Which size should I choose? The 1,000mm-high boards provide greater visibility and are suitable for entrances, directions and event messages. The 420mm-high boards are more compact and work well for section markers, short promotional messages and displays where space is limited.

Why are the A-Boards supplied in packs? The pack quantities are based on how efficiently each board size fits onto the sheet used for production. The quantity therefore changes according to the selected dimensions.

Are the A-Boards printed on both sides? Yes. Each assembled board has two outward-facing printed panels, allowing the message to be seen from both directions.

Can each side have a different design? Yes. The two faces can display matching or different artwork. Make sure both designs are supplied and clearly identified.

Can I have different designs within the same pack? Yes. A pack can contain one repeated design or several different designs. Supply the correct number of artwork files and clearly state how many boards are required for each version.

Are handle cut-outs included? Yes. Handle cut-outs are included as standard to make the boards easier to carry. If they are not required, remove or hide the relevant lines in the artwork template and tell SM1 when ordering.

How do I assemble the A-Board? Fold the board along the pre-creased lines and connect the interlocking sections to form the base. Make sure all tabs are secured before positioning the display.

Can Outdoor A-Boards be used outside? Yes, for temporary outdoor use in suitable conditions. The base should be weighted or pegged into appropriate ground to reduce movement. Weights and pegs are not supplied.

What should I use to weigh down the base? Use a suitable clean, stable weight that fits securely across the base without damaging the printed board. Make sure it does not create a trip hazard or obstruct surrounding access routes.

Can the board be pegged into the ground? Yes, where the surface is suitable and you have permission to insert ground pegs. Check for buried services and site restrictions before pegging anything into the ground.

Can it be left outside in poor weather? No. Remove the A-Board during strong winds, heavy rain or other adverse conditions. Its lightweight construction means it must be positioned and monitored carefully whenever it is used outdoors.

How should I store the boards? Clean and dry the boards before storage. Keep them flat in a dry location and avoid placing heavy objects on top, as this could crush the fluted material or damage the creases and locking tabs.

Can the boards be reused? Yes, if they are assembled, dismantled and stored carefully. Their usable life will depend on handling, installation and exposure to outdoor conditions.

What is the difference between an Outdoor A-Board and an A-Frame? Outdoor A-Boards are lightweight printed displays made entirely from fluted board and supplied in packs. A-Frames are a more substantial option for customers who need a reusable pavement display.

Can I create the artwork in Canva? Canva can be used if it allows you to create the design at the exact template dimensions. Keep important content clear of the folds, base and handle cut-outs. Contact SM1 before starting if you are unsure whether Canva is suitable for your chosen size.

Can SM1 check or design my artwork? Yes. SM1 can check supplied files and advise if corrections are needed. We can also create a complete Outdoor A-Board design using your branding, logos, messaging and event information. Artwork corrections and design work may be chargeable.
