Premium and Double Sided Posters

What are premium posters?
Premium posters are printed display graphics with a wider choice of sizes, materials and print options than a standard express poster. They are suitable for larger displays, double-sided posters, window graphics and promotional use.

What can premium posters be used for?
They are ideal for retail promotions, event marketing, exhibition displays, window advertising, office graphics, presentations, campaign posters, point-of-sale displays and temporary signage.

What sizes are available?
Standard poster sizes include A4, A3, A2, A1 and A0. Custom sizes are also available.

What is the largest size available?
Single-sided custom posters are available up to 1250mm wide x 2500mm high.

Can I order double-sided posters?
Yes. Double-sided poster printing is available on selected specifications up to 500mm x 700mm.

When should I choose a double-sided poster?
Double-sided posters are useful for window displays, suspended posters, freestanding holders or any display where the design needs to be seen from both sides.

Are premium posters suitable for windows?
Yes. Premium posters can be used in windows, especially if you choose a double-sided option. This helps your message remain visible from both inside and outside.

What materials can I choose from?
Material options depend on the selected size and specification. Options may include paper stocks, photosatin and PVC-based materials for more durable display use.

What is photosatin best for?
Photosatin is a good option for posters with strong imagery, photography or detailed artwork. It gives a smooth, high-quality display finish without being overly glossy.

What is PVC best for?
PVC is better suited to more durable display use where the poster needs extra strength compared with standard paper. It can be useful for temporary signage, events and retail displays.

Are these posters suitable for outdoor use?
Premium posters are mainly intended for indoor or temporary sheltered display. For longer-term outdoor signage, a banner, Foamex board, Correx board or aluminium composite sign may be more suitable.

Can premium posters be laminated?
Finish options depend on the chosen material and specification. If you need added protection, let us know how the poster will be used and we can advise the best option.

Do you offer foil or Spot UV on posters?
No. Foil and Spot UV are not suitable for this poster product. They are better suited to selected cards, covers and premium printed items.

Can I print different designs in one order?
Yes, different artwork versions may be possible. Please name each file clearly and confirm the quantity needed for each design.

Which size should I choose?
A4 and A3 are useful for notices, menus and smaller displays. A2 works well for retail and event messaging. A1 and A0 are better for high-impact posters, exhibitions and larger promotional displays. Custom sizes are useful for windows, frames and unusual display spaces.

Can I order a poster to fit an existing frame?
Yes. Please provide the exact visible size and finished size in millimetres. If the poster needs to fit behind a mount or inside a frame, allow for any overlap required.

What file format should I supply?
Please supply a print-ready PDF. PDF/X-1a is preferred where possible. Fonts should be embedded or converted to outlines.

Do I need bleed and crop marks?
Yes. Please include bleed and crop marks on your artwork. Background colours, images and design elements that run to the edge should extend into the bleed area.

How close can text be to the edge?
Keep important text, logos and key details safely inside the trim edge. This helps prevent content being cut too close during finishing.

What resolution should my images be?
Images should ideally be 300dpi at the final printed size. For very large posters viewed from further away, lower effective resolution may sometimes be acceptable, but low-quality images can still appear soft or pixelated.

Can I design my poster in Canva?
Yes. Export your finished artwork as a PDF Print file with crop marks and bleed selected. Canva files are usually RGB, so colours may shift slightly when converted for print.

Will colours print exactly as they look on screen?
Not always. Screens use RGB colour, while print uses CMYK. Some colour variation is normal, especially with bright colours, Pantones, spot colours or RGB artwork.

Can SM1 check my artwork before print?
Yes. We can check supplied artwork and flag obvious print issues. If your file needs correction, resizing or design work, we can quote for artwork support.
