Please note: The aluminium frame will require drilling to create your own fixing points. This allows for maximum hanging flexibility for various wall surfaces. As the aluminium frame does not have any standard fixing points we do not provide a wall-mounting kit.

What is included with the lightbox?
Each lightbox includes the aluminium frame components, fitted LED lighting, transformer, UK power cable and plug, Allen key and one custom-printed fabric graphic.

Which sizes are available?
The standard sizes are:

What is an SEG fabric graphic?
SEG stands for Silicone Edge Graphic. A flexible silicone strip is stitched around the edge of the printed fabric and pressed into the channel around the aluminium frame. This tensions the graphic and creates a smooth finish without visible clips or eyelets.

How is the graphic illuminated?
LEDs are fitted around the inside edge of the frame. Their light passes through the specialist backlit fabric to illuminate the printed design evenly from behind.

What type of artwork works best on a lightbox?
Colourful artwork, photographs, gradients and detailed designs generally make the best use of the illumination. Large areas of one flat colour may make small variations in the edge lighting more noticeable.

Does the lightbox arrive assembled?
No. The frame is supplied in sections and requires assembly using the included Allen key. The LEDs are already fitted inside the frame.

Are wall fixings included?
No. The aluminium frame does not have pre-drilled fixing points, allowing the installer to position suitable holes for the chosen wall and installation method. Fixings must be selected to suit the wall construction and the completed weight of the lightbox. Installation should be carried out by someone competent to assess and drill the mounting surface.

Does it need to be wired into the mains?
The lightbox is supplied with a transformer, approximately 3m of power cable and a fitted UK plug. It can be connected to a suitable nearby socket without being permanently wired into the building. If the cable needs to be concealed or the electrical arrangement changed, consult a qualified electrician.

Can two or more lightboxes be installed together?
Yes. Separate lightboxes can be positioned alongside one another to create a wider display. Allow for frame edges, cable routes and access to each graphic when planning the installation.

Can the graphic be replaced?
Yes. The fabric graphic can be removed using the nylon pull tab and replaced without changing the frame or lighting system. Order the replacement graphic for the exact lightbox size.

Where will the pull tab be positioned?
The removal tab is normally fitted near an upper corner so it is less accessible to children. Contact SM1 before production if you require it in a different position or do not want a pull tab.

Can the graphic be washed?
The printed fabric is washable, but it must be removed from the electrical frame first. Wash at 30°C without detergent and allow it to dry completely before refitting.

Is the lightbox suitable for outdoor use?
No. The frame, graphic and electrical components are intended for indoor use only.

Can I create the artwork in Canva?
Canva may be suitable if it can create the artwork at the exact template size and include the required bleed. Large files may exceed Canva's size limits, so contact SM1 before starting. We can advise on the correct setup or help prepare the final print-ready artwork.

Can SM1 check or design my artwork?
Yes. SM1 can check supplied files and advise if changes are required. We can also create a complete wall-mounted lightbox design using your branding, images and messaging. Artwork corrections and design work may be chargeable.
