Should I choose a straight or curved wall?
Straight walls sit close to a wall or at the back of an exhibition stand. Curved walls create a more enclosed backdrop and can help the display stand independently within an open space. Check the available floor area before selecting your format and width.

Which size should I choose?
Consider the available space, the number of people likely to stand in front of the display and the viewing distance. Smaller walls work well behind counters or in compact exhibition spaces, while larger widths are suitable for stages, group photographs and substantial branded backdrops.

What is the difference between single and double-sided printing?
A single-sided display has a full-colour graphic on the front and a plain white reverse. A double-sided display is printed on both sides, making it useful where people can approach the wall from different directions.

Can I use different artwork on each side?
Yes. Double-sided walls can have the same design on both sides or a different design on each side. Artwork must be supplied for both sides, even when the same design is being repeated.

What is included with the display?
You will receive the aluminium frame, fitted printed graphic, gloves for handling the fabric and a carry bag for the hardware. Straight frames also include the required Allen key.

How is the wall assembled?
The numbered aluminium frame sections connect to form the structure. The fabric graphic is then carefully pulled over the assembled frame and closed using the zip along the underside. No specialist tools are required.

Can one person assemble it?
One person may be able to assemble smaller versions, but two people are recommended when fitting the graphic, especially on wider walls. This makes it easier to position the cover evenly without overstretching or distorting the seams.

Is the wall easy to transport?
The frame dismantles into smaller sections and fits inside the supplied carry bag. Smaller graphics may also fit in the bag, but larger fabric covers may need to be transported separately. Fold the graphic carefully and keep it clean and dry.

Can several walls be positioned together?
Yes. Multiple displays can be placed side by side to create a wider backdrop. They do not physically connect, so each frame must be assembled and positioned separately.

Can Stretch Fabric Walls be used outdoors?
No. These displays are designed for indoor use and should not be exposed to wind or rain. For an outdoor freestanding banner display, consider a Heavy Duty Banner Frame.

Will the frame show through the fabric?
Strong lighting from behind or directly above the display may make parts of the frame visible through the fabric. Avoid positioning the wall in front of bright windows or powerful rear lighting where possible.

Can a design continue around both sides of the wall?
Simple background colours and broad graphical elements can work across both faces, but fine lines, detailed patterns and precisely aligned elements should not cross between the front and reverse. The stretch and positioning of the fabric can create small alignment differences.

How should I clean the graphic?
The fabric graphic can be washed at 30°C without detergent. Allow it to dry completely before fitting, folding or storing it. Do not store the graphic while damp.

Can I order a replacement graphic?
Yes. Replacement graphics are available for compatible Stretch Fabric Wall frames. Select the correct shape, width and number of printed sides. If your frame was purchased before 1 February 2025, contact SM1 before ordering because older hardware may require a different graphic.

Can I create the artwork in Canva?
Canva may not be suitable for this large display because the artwork must follow a specialist template and be prepared at a reduced scale. If you plan to use Canva, contact SM1 before starting. We can advise whether it is suitable for your design or help prepare the final print-ready artwork.

Can SM1 check or design my artwork?
Yes. SM1 can check supplied files and advise if corrections are needed. We can also create a complete Stretch Fabric Wall design using your branding, logos, messaging and event information.
