What is an acrylic print?
An acrylic print is a wall display where your photograph, artwork or design is printed onto acrylic. The result is a smooth, glossy display piece with strong colour and sharp detail. They are ideal for photography, artwork, office walls, reception areas, home décor, gallery displays, exhibitions, gifts, awards, retail interiors and branded wall graphics.

What material is used?
Acrylic prints are produced on premium 4mm acrylic, giving the finished print a clean, glossy and modern display finish.

What sizes are available?
Acrylic prints are available in a range of square, rectangle and panoramic sizes. Portrait and landscape options are also available.

Can I order a custom size?
Custom sizes may be possible depending on the specification. Please provide the finished width and height in millimetres so we can advise.

Do acrylic prints come ready to hang?
Yes. Each acrylic print includes a sturdy wall hanger and spacing foam pads, helping the print sit neatly away from the wall.

What are spacing foam pads for?
Spacing foam pads help position the acrylic print slightly away from the wall. This gives the print a cleaner display finish and helps it sit more evenly when hung.

Can I have transparent areas in my design?
Yes, but transparent areas need to be set up correctly in the artwork. Please ask before supplying final files if your design includes clear sections, selective white ink or layered effects.

What type of images work best?
High-resolution photographs, bold artwork, colourful graphics and images with good contrast work particularly well. Acrylic enhances colour and shine, so strong image quality is important.

What resolution should my image be?
Images should ideally be 300dpi at the final printed size. Anything lower may appear soft, blurry or pixelated, especially on larger acrylic prints.

Can I use a phone photo?
Yes, but the quality depends on the original image. High-quality phone photos can print well, but screenshots, social media downloads and heavily compressed images are usually not suitable for large acrylic prints.

Can acrylic prints be used outdoors?
Acrylic prints are best suited to indoor display. For outdoor or long-term signage, a material such as Foamex, aluminium composite or vinyl signage may be more suitable.

How do I clean an acrylic print?
Use a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths, harsh chemicals or rough cleaning products, as these may mark the surface.

Can acrylic prints scratch?
Yes. Acrylic can scratch if handled roughly or cleaned with abrasive materials. Handle with care and avoid placing the printed surface against rough objects.

What file format should I supply?
Please supply a print-ready PDF where possible. High-quality JPEG or TIFF files may also be suitable for photographic prints.

Do I need bleed and crop marks?
Yes. If your image or design runs to the edge, include bleed and crop marks. This helps avoid unwanted edges after trimming.

Should my artwork be CMYK?
CMYK is preferred for print. RGB, Pantone and spot colours may be converted for production, which can cause colour changes.

Can I design my acrylic print in Canva?
Yes. Export your finished design as a PDF Print file with crop marks and bleed selected. Canva artwork is usually RGB, so colours may shift slightly when converted for print.

Can SM1 check my artwork before print?
Yes. We can check supplied artwork and flag obvious issues such as low resolution, missing bleed, incorrect sizing or white ink concerns. If your file needs design work or correction, we can quote for artwork support.
