What is a framed print?
A framed print is a photograph, artwork, poster or graphic design printed and supplied inside a frame. It gives the print a finished display look and helps protect it from everyday dust and handling. They are ideal for photography, artwork, gifts, gallery walls, office displays, reception areas, retail interiors, exhibition graphics, posters and personal wall décor.

What frame colours are available?
Frames are available in black or white.

What depth is the frame?
The frame depth is 30mm, giving the finished print a clean, gallery-style appearance.

What paper is used for the print?
The artwork is printed on 200gsm photosatin, which is suitable for photographs, posters, artwork and image-led designs.

Can I choose a mount?
Yes. We can provide a white mount if requested. Please be aware this reduce the size of your image. 

Does the frame include glass?
The frame includes a high-quality acrylic front rather than traditional glass. Acrylic is lighter than glass and helps protect the print.

Are framed prints suitable for outdoor use?
No. Framed prints are intended for indoor use only. For outdoor or weather-resistant display, a poster, board, banner or acrylic sign may be more suitable.

Do framed prints come ready to hang?
Framed prints are supplied as finished framed pieces. You will still need to use suitable wall fixings for the wall type and weight of the frame.

What resolution should my image be?
Images should ideally be 300dpi at the final printed size. Low-resolution images may appear soft, blurry or pixelated when printed.

Can I use a phone photo?
Yes, but quality depends on the original image. High-quality phone photos can work well, but screenshots, social media downloads and compressed images are often too low in quality for larger framed prints.

Will any of the artwork be hidden by the frame?
A small amount of the print may sit behind the frame edge. Keep important text, faces, logos and key details safely inside the artwork safe area.

What file format should I supply?
Please supply a print-ready PDF where possible. High-quality JPEG or TIFF files may also be suitable for photographic prints.

Do I need bleed and crop marks?
Yes. If the image or background runs to the edge, include bleed and crop marks. This helps avoid unwanted white edges after trimming.

Should my artwork be CMYK?
CMYK artwork is preferred where possible. RGB artwork, Pantone colours and spot colours may be converted for print, which can cause some colour changes.

Can I design my framed print in Canva?
Yes. Export your finished design as a PDF Print file with crop marks and bleed selected. Canva artwork is usually RGB, so colours may shift slightly when converted for print.

Will colours print exactly as they look on screen?
Not always. Screens are backlit and use RGB colour, while print is produced on paper. Some difference in colour, brightness and contrast is normal.

How are framed prints packed?
Framed prints are packed carefully to help protect the frame and acrylic front during handling and delivery.

Can SM1 check my artwork before print?
Yes. We can check supplied artwork and flag obvious issues such as low resolution, incorrect size, missing bleed or important content too close to the edge. If the file needs design work, retouching or correction, we can quote for artwork support.
